Pre Searing Questions
Thought I'd post this here, as I'm not sure where else to put it. I have 2 things I want to do on my Mule character, and want to know if it's possible.
1) Get him to Ember Light Camp at level 1 2) Get him a Pre-Searing bear I was wondering if a) it's possible and b) someone could help me do it, by posting the exact quests I should take as a Ranger in order to get the bear, and then get out of Pre with enough exp to make it to Ember Light Camp at level 1. Cheers |

I know you can get a bear pre-sear, but i'm not sure you can get to ember at level 1. You have to win Sanctum Cay and THK to get there and the exp should get you beyond level 1. :P

You could get a run straight to THK and get that mission done for 1,000XP.

you gotta have a friend do some tricky crap to get the presear bear, you gotta liek charm it and then friend uses that bane signet or whatever its called it knock it down so that you ahve enough time to fully charm it so it cant break the charm, its something like that, but im not quite sure

Anyone know what quests I'd have to do in order to keep under the exp amount before leaving pre-searing? Because at the moment if I get 150 more, I'll have too much, but the 2ndary profession quest is worth 250...

You can't get to Emberlight as a Level 1. It takes 2,000 XP to go from level 1 to level 2. Having to do THK and Sanctum Cay takes that up all by themselves. You can get there as a level 2, as it's another 2,600 XP before hitting level 3. I've got a guildie who did it & I've seen a few there.

The path to glory: 100 exp
Primary class quest: 500 exp Secondary class quest: 500 exp A second profession: 250 exp War preparations: 250 exp Thunderhead Keep: 1000 exp Total exp: 2600, no you can't. -edit- Put in a wrong quest, same total exp anyway Last edited by Tyggen; Sep 06, 2006 at 10:06 AM // 10:06.. |

It is possible. Who says you need a secondary proffesion? That takes up 750 XP. 2600-750=1850 XP.

Burst you guys bubble
I had a level 1 ranger I brought from pre, got ran to Droks, got armor, got ran to moladune, got infused, got run to thk, beat mission, and was at ember light. I was level 2 however when I landed on the ember light camp, but close enough. YOU DONT HAVE TO DO anything in the desert to get to ember light, I did it, so forget Sanctum Cay or any other quests

My guess is that that was a while ago then.
I believe people here are right just look at the post above with the XP calculation. |

Elem test: 500 XP
Rangers companion: 250 XP Second proffesion: 250 XP THK: 1000 XP I believe you don't need Path to Glory and I'm sure you don't need War Preperations and second class quest is 250xp. But still, it leaves you at 2000xp. If you don't need to take the second proffesion quest itself then you can make it. I'll test it with my PvP slot during my lunchbreak. |

It can be done, though I didn't make it.
Here's how to do it: Go outside of Ascalon city, take the Elementalist test. Kill one of the River Skale Tads at indicated position, you get 25xp. Get quest reward, you get 500xp. Walk to the ranger guy in Regent Valley, get stalker, don't kill anything allong the way (easy enough, they don't aggro). Get reward another 250 xp. Say yes to becoming a ranger. 775 xp total. Now you go cap the bear, be sure not to kill ANYTHING allong the way. Get help from a friend with bane signet. Take your friend with you to Sir Tydus, talk to him and be sure not to be anywhere in the PvP arena, you get XP for kills here. After this, stay put while the rest of the group goes and does the thing, so you don't get any XP. Why I didn't make it: 1- I took mesmer secondary (see screen below why that was reason 1 I didn't make it) 2- I killed two people in the PvP stuff, I couldn't resist me and 3 henchies v.s. 2 level 8's, 1 level 6 and a level 2. (also see screen below) 3 - I had 3 henchies, so in the part after PvP I had to get too close and got XP for almost every kill. Eventually I came out with 1200 XP or so. Now the screenies (clickable tumbnails): Proof: Why I didn't make it: Though I don't get why you won't get a bear in the southern shiverpeaks if your getting run there anyway Last edited by Gonzo; Sep 08, 2006 at 11:00 AM // 11:00.. |

However I think you might be right about "war prep." - I think you can get the secondary by just talking to a trainer. But I still don't see how it would be possible: The path to glory: 100 xp Primary class quest: 500 xp + 25 xp from kill Secondary class quest: 250 xp A second profession: 250 xp Thunderhead Keep: 1,000 xp a total of 2,125 xp Even if you didn't have to do "The path to glory" you would still get 2,025 xp and that would make you level 2. |

Have a friend, monk or whatever, just so they can stay alive, aggro the bear. When the bear uses his brutal mauling skill, you hit charm, your friend takes off running the other way(away from you) and the bear follows..it may take a few tries, but eventually he WILL be out of range when he hits break charm and you'll get it. |
